Arthur B. Schultz

Arthur B. Schultz was born in Norway in 1926. As a
young man he was part of the resistance movement in Nazi-occupied
Norway. After receiving a small scholarship to the University of
Minnesota in 1949, Arthur departed for America. As a poor student,
he worked at multiple, odd jobs to support himself while getting
his education.
In 1951 Arthur received a degree in accounting and
business administration from the University of Minnesota. He later
became a Certified Public Accountant. After a brief stay in Norway
he immigrated to the US where he has remained to this day.
In 1956 Arthur moved to Los Angeles. California where
a dynamic, new market was developing. Arthur's business, the A.B.
Schultz Company, an Accountancy Corporation, grew quickly. At that
time he entered the Los Angeles Real Estate market and also took
equity positions in electronic and sporting goods companies. One
of these companies went public, ensuring his future financial success.
Arthur founded the ABS
Foundation in 1985. The foundation supports educational institutions
worldwide, helping those who otherwise could not secure an education.
Over the last seven years the ABS foundation has supported several
different projects in Russia through the Center for Citizen Initiatives.
Arthur is still an enthusiastic mountaineer and avid
skier, having skied the premier American cross-country race ten
times, winning his class twice. He also has completed long distance
ski races in twelve different countries. Arthur has joined mountaineering
groups to Kilimanjaro in Africa, the Acuncagua in Argentina, the
Everest region in the Himalayas, and the Alaskan mountains.
Arthur and his wife, Mette, live in the High Sierra
between California and Nevada where he still enjoys his lifelong
sport, skiing. He travels to Russia annually to update himself on
the rapidly developing events there and to check in on those Russians
who are achieving greater levels of business success due to ABS's
assistance.
