Why Should Americans Help Russians? |
The United States has spent decades in conflict with the Soviet Union.
We now live in a new era of peace and cooperation that is being challenged
by vestiges of the Cold War mentality. PEP is helping erase remaining
tension between our nations while and fostering new friendships and business
partnerships. PEP is an investment supporting the economic and democratic
future for both Russia and the United States. Russia has the potential
to be a key trading partner for the United States; by assisting Russia's
producers now, we lay the foundations for a profitable trade relationship
in the future. PEP is empowering Russian business leaders to transform their communities. They are learning how to coordinate their own service projects, raise funds, and motivate volunteers to meet the needs of their communities, rather than seeking outside aid. |
