The Center for Citizen Initiatives (CCI), a non-profit 501
(c)(3) organization, has a fifteen year history of running ambitious citizen-to-citizen
programs between the United States and the former USSR. Our office of 30 energetic
hardworking team members will welcome your skills as an intern. We work with
Russia on a number of exciting projects to help build a free market economy
and establish a vibrant middle class in this rapidly changing country. All of
CCI's programs aim to empower citizens, not officials, to take responsibility
for societal change.
Duties and Responsibilities: This is an unpaid position that
offers students interested in non-profits and/or Russia and opportunity to gain
work experience. Current high school and college students preferred. An intern
would provide support to various members of the CCI staff. More specifically,
duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Mailings
- Photocopying
- Data-Entry
- Answering Phones
- Archiving
- Labeling Photographs
- Internet and Library Research
- Other Tasks as Assigned
Qualifications: We are looking for an intern with:
- Interest in the goals and mission of CCI
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Writing and research skills
- Organizational skills and close attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with Macintosh computers
- Professional appearance
Commitment: We would like our interns to make a 10 week commitment
of a minimum 3 hours a week.
