THE PRODUCTIVITY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM (PEP)...
- Is the flagship program of the Center for Citizen Initiatives
- a premiere nonprofit organization funded by the US State Department to support
the continued development of democratic institutions and a sustainable free-market
economy in Russia.
- Has already been embraced by over 15,000 volunteers in 44
states.
- Is designed to jump-start the Russian economy from the inside
out and is based on the historic Marshall Plan that helped rebuild Europe
after WWII.
- Is one of the most cost-effective training programs available
to Russian business owners today. In fact, it was cited by US Consul General
James Bigus as providing "the most bang for the buck."
- Is the only US State Department funded program for Russia
that requires the Russian delegates to pay a portion of their program costs.
- Has already provided business training to more than 3,000
Russian entrepreneurs.
...IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
- PEP has provided vital business training that delegates can
use back in Russia to develop, improve and stabilize their local economies.
- New Rotary clubs, Kiwanis clubs, and entrepreneurial associations
have been chartered in Russia by PEP alumni.
- Together, with clubs, we have provided an opportunity for
Russians to learn about civic club values and the important role volunteers
play in their communities and the world.
What Russian PEP graduates are saying:
IN A RECENT SURVEY...
- 84% of PEP alumni report having donated volunteer time, products,
or services to disadvantaged members of their communities upon their return
to Russia.
- 78% are already using ideas or images they were exposed to
in the US.
- 66% have changed their management styles as a result of PEP.
- 94% said that they were impressed by Rotary and Kiwanis clubs'
goals and principles PEP graduates have even started a number of clubs in
Russia!
- 79% are more optimistic about the Russian economy now than
they were a year ago.
What American PEP hosts are saying:
I don't recall working as hard or being as committed to
a program as I was with this one. I think we all felt like we were ambassadors
in some way to our Russians guests. The people who volunteered found that it
was much more rewarding and worthwhile than we could have imagined. - Dr.
Daniel Tanita, Rotary Club of Richmond, CA, Local Business Training Coordinator,
Business Host, and Home Host, Dental Clinics
Hosting two PEP delegations has been an amazing experience
for our small town. It has been a life changing experience for both Russians
and Americans. Most of our home hosts and committee members want to do it again.
I know I do! - Elizabeth Bickham, Rotary Club of Franklinton, LA,PEP Home
